Welcome to Bike to Work, we offer employers a totally free service to help you take advantage of the recent Government initiative offering tax free bikes for cycling to work.

Bike to Work Scheme for Employers - Employer Benefits

Using the Bike to Work scheme, your company can purchase a brand new bike and safety equipment worth up to 1,000 euro tax free, for your employees. You can use a salary sacrifice arrangement to allow your employees to pay for the bike monthly. This means that means that the employees saves up to 52% of the retail price of bike and equipment but your company also makes a saving of 10.75%.

Who are Bike to Work Ltd?

Bike to Work is an independent company created to help both employers and employees take advantage of the Cycle to Work Scheme Tax Incentive.

Bike to Work use their industry experience and trade contacts to get employees riding to work on a bike of their choice from their local preferred participating bicycle shop.

Bike to Work handle most of the administration for the employer at no charge, and provide a single point of contact for enquiries and invoices. All this while maintaining the best choice of bikes for employees.

For larger companies Bike to Work can visit your company to help employers promote the Cycle to Work Scheme. This involves Bike to Work visiting work locations to advise staff on how the cycle to work scheme works and show the types of bikes on offer under the scheme. Your employees could actually have their bicycles in just a few days!

What are the benefits to the employer?

There are multiple benefits for a company to introduce its own cycle to work scheme:

How the Tax Break Works

  1. Bike to Work Ltd set up a Bike to Work microsite / website account for your organisation.
  2. Your employee visits the microsite, picks a Bike to Work Ltd partner shop and gets a quote.
  3. The employee enters the quote on the microsite.
  4. The employee prints off and completes a Purchase Agreement and forwards it to HR.
  5. HR approves the order and is automatically invoiced for the order.
  6. On receipt of payment Bike to Work Ltd emails the employee a voucher
  7. Finally, the employer reduces the employees gross / pre-tax salary by the cost of the bike using Salary Sacrifice
