The Cycle-to-Work scheme is now being rolled out to the Civil Service and Bike to Work are already supplying bikes to public sector clients minimising the administration involved and providing the same benefits we provide to the private sector.

Bike to Work can supply bikes to the Civil Service

Bike to Work have have over 150 partner shops in all counties nationwide. Bike to Work and all our partner shops are appoved to supply bikes to the Civil Service by the OPW, and marked with a BTW (for Bike to Work) on the OPW’s List of Approved Suppliers.

How can Bike to Work help your organisation?

Bike to Work can look after all the administration and invoicing for the majority of the bike shops in Ireland. The process is as follows:

  • Register your organisation with Bike to Work. A Microsite will be created on our Secure Online System for your organisation.
  • Forward the link to the Microsite to your employees. They can then submit quotes online for any of our Partner Bike Shops.
  • Employees can agree to your personalised Terms and Conditions and Salary Sacrifice Agreements online as part of our online process.
  • Our system will automatically generate Invoices and, on payment, issues a voucher code by email to your employees with which they can collect their bike.
  • Bike to Work can also provide poster and flyers on the scheme and carry out promotional launches in the workplace with our partner shops.

The OPW Government Supplies Agency has provided further guidance on the operation of the Cycle-to-Work scheme for the Civil Service. They have a website and a List of Approved Suppliers. Bike to Work and all it’s partner shops are approved suppliers.

Dept. of Finance Civil Service Circular

In May 2009 the Department of Finance issued Circular 16/2009: Cycle-to-Work Scheme which sets out the operation of the scheme for the Civil Service.
